Hirst Magnetic Instruments Ltd is a company with more than 50 years experience in magnetic measurement. This experience and our extensive knowledge of the magnetics market has enabled us to design an instrument incorporating all of the measurement functions a user is ever likely to need.

Typical applications of Gaussmeters include quality control, development, servicing and fault finding of magnetic devices. Examples of operation include the measurement of flux density in motor and speaker air gaps; the assessment of permanent magnets and AC field measurements. Designed for factory floor, on site and laboratory measurement of magnetic flux density and magnetic field strength in SI or CGS, the GM08 gives excellent value for money.

Gaussmeters, sometimes called Teslameters, Flux Density Meters or (incorrectly) Fluxmeters, use a Hall element as a sensor to measure magnetic flux density (measured in Tesla or Gauss). Magnetic field strength in air can also be measured (Amps/meter and Oersted).

Hirst Magnetic Instruments Ltd also manufactures a large range of magnetic measuring and processing equipment, including Magnetisers, Demagnetisers, Fluxmeters and magnet characterisation equipment. For our full range and further details please visit www.hirst-magnetics.com
