SoftwareSoftware is available for both the GM08 and VGM02 to allow the control and data capture with a GM08 or VGM02. The software uses a RS232 or USB interface to communicate both commands and data to the Gaussmeter. Various applications are included with the drivers including :-
The various tools are available as a windows installer ready to run and also in source code form. Full documentation is provided for the low level DLL making integration into user applications and existing systems simple. The software can control nearly every aspect of the GM08 and VGM02 including capturing readings, setting range/mode and units and recalling stored data from memory. The Excel example shows how to directly control and capture data from within the spreadsheet, automated logging based on field level is also possible or via a timer interval. The GM0 Library wraps the functionality of the Gaussmeter hardware and access to USB or serial ports to make operation of the GM08 or VGM02 easy from custom user code. Only a few simple functions are required to operate and capture data from the Gaussmeter. The GM0 Library is also compatible with our older GM05 Gaussmeter (via RS232 only). Linux SupportBasic Linux support is available using the cross platform GM0 library available inside the source code package. The GM0 library shares identical code between the Windows and Linux implementation. The command line/console application is also identical for the Windows and Linux environments. At present there are NO graphical interfaces to the GM0 library for Linux. The code should also compile and run under other flavours of unix. Software supportThe software here is provided free of charge. If you have problems with the software above then please use the GM05 mailing list to ask questions and look for answers.
