Display Format

The GM04 and GM05 Microprocessor controlled Hand Held Gaussmeters have been designed to give the Operator information in a clear and non confusing manner. To achieve this, areas of the two line, sixteen character, dot matrix Liquid Crystal Display are dedicated to specific functions making access to information rapid, easy and consistent.

The polarity, measurement value, measurement units and measurement functions are always shown at the top left hand side of the display.

When active, the status display is always in the bottom right hand corner, while the menu option display is always in the bottom left hand corner.

The menu has been structured to make the GM04/05 easy to use with frequently used options the quickest to access.

Changing from DC measurements to AC measurements

Display The GM04/05 is currently measuring flux density in milliTesla in a DC function. Press the MENU button and....
Display ....the first Menu Option will appear. This will enable you to choose between the measurement functions, DC, DC Peak, AC RMS, AC RMS Max, AC Peak. Press the ENTER button and the NEXT button until....
Display ....the AC MAX Option appears. Press ENTER and.... the AC MAX Function appears in the measurement function display. If you now press the MENU button....
Display ....the Menu Option is cleared. This stage is not necessary, but helps to keep an uncluttered display.

Other Menu Options

Display If, instead of pressing the ENTER button when the Menu Option was "Function", you had pressed the NEXT button, the display would have shown "Units". This option enables you to change between Tesla, Amps/m, Gauss and Oersted.
Display Pressing the NEXT button again - the display shows the "Capture" option. This enables you to choose between storing, recalling and holding readings in memory.
Display Press the NEXT button again and the display shows the "Utilities" option. This enables you to choose between a number of lesser used functions such as Null (Zeroing), self calibration process, control of automatic power down timing and even
Display .... a language option. The GM04/05 can operate with menus in English, French, German, Italian, Spanish and Portuguese.
