The GM93B gaussmeter connects to a Windows PC or battery powered laptop (PC and laptop not included) and comes with a powerful visualisation and logging software package, HirstMagLab v1.  The GM93B gaussmeter simultaneously measures the three component axes of the magnetic field, allowing for an accurate reading of field intensity, regardless of how the probe is held. An optional probe mount station turns the GM93B gaussmeter and probe into a PC based magnet inspection station.

Key features are

  • GM93B, benchtop 3-axis gaussmeter
    • Simultaneous measurement of Bx, By, Bz and B.
    • 3 measurement ranges from ±10mT to ±2500 mT (±2.5T).
    • Measures DC & AC fields up to 350Hz.
    • Ultra small measurement volume with magnetic field sensitive dimensions of 0.1mm x 0.1mm x 0.01mm (z) for accurate 3-axis field measurement.
    • 3 Axis probe construction ensures sensing element is located to accuracy of +/- 0.1mm in x, y and +/-0.05mm in z for highly repeatable three-axis field measurements.
    • Integrated temperature measurement and temperature drift compensation.
    • Connected via USB-C cable to Windows 10 (min) PC.
  • HirstMagLab v1 a powerful Windows based PC package
    • Powerful visualisation software running under windows can display of magnetic field in cartesian coordinates (Bx, By, Bz and B) or polar coordinates (B, θ, Φ) .
    • Magnetic Polarity indicator (North and South).
    • Intuitive easy to use menus with on-screen help and a dedicated knowledge base support website.
    • Data logging and capture options with .CSV file storage formats for traceability and quality control.
  • Application Programming Interfaces via SCPI (compliant with SCPI 1999.0 interface standard) for generation of custom applications and integration with other systems (such as Linux, PC, Mac etc).

The GM093B Gaussmeter is the best device for those needing a bench top system to measure magnetic field strength and magnetic flux density in all three-axis simultaneously (reducing the risk of measurement error due to misalignment of a single axis probe). Supplied with powerful HirstMagLab v1 With a one year guarantee and calibration certificate included, the GM093B Gaussmeter is ready to use and simple to operate.

  • Some example applications include:
  • General purpose bench top PC based gaussmeter.
  • Magnet polarity measurements, magnet strength testing.
  • Angle of Magnetisation testing.
  • Goods inward and Quality Assurance Inspection.
  • SCPI allows easy integration into automation systems.

The GM93B kit contains:-

  • GM93B unit
  • Three-axis probe 3DHS-1 with 1m cable (Probe calibration certificate).
  • Zero flux chamber.
  • A single USB-C power / PC connection cable
  • Carry case.

Accessories

The GM093B gaussmeter uses only the three axis 3DHS-1gaussmeter probe with 1m cable length, additional probes can be purchased from Hirst.

Optional 3DHS-1-PIN-kit (probe not included) which has a pin board with adjustable location pegs to ensure the magnet under test can be reliably located relative to sensor element in the probe.

Optional 3DHS-1-LOCATION-kit (probe not included) which has a 3d printed concentric circles referenced to the sensor element in the probe to ensure the magnet under test can be reliably located relative to sensor element in the probe.

Optional DIN rack mount kit (DIN kit) shown below (GM93B base unit not included in DIN-kit)

Optional 3DHS-1-AOM-kit (probe not included) a manual  3d printed table to precisely rotate magnets and measure the angle of magnetisation and deviation from the vertical of the sample under test .
